Atari and Sony's PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 downloadable top down Ghostbusters game Sanctum of Slime sees a maximum of four players each assume the role of a rookie.

Each is hired to save New York City from ruin. There are jobs to complete, haunted environments to explore and ectoplasmic threats to deal with.

Huge bosses that require a concerted effort to defeat with Proton Streams are promised. Other weapons include the Plasma Inductor and the Fermion Shock.

"In Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, we are introducing an entirely new look and gameplay experience on digital platforms that will impress new and loyal Ghostbusters fans alike," Jim Wilson, President and CEO of Atari, Inc, said.

Sanctum of Slime is the first ever Ghostbusters digital title. The PC version will be available to download from Atari.com. The first gameplay trailer is below.
