In the never-ending wait for news about Half Life 3′s release, any tiny shred of information we can get our hands on is about as valuable as gold. This new bit? I’m not so sure. Sounds a bit like the absurd Zelda Wii U rumors we heard a few weeks back, but I’ll give it to you anyway:

- Information comes from an “inside source” at Valve
- Half Life 3 started as a pure shooter, then moved onto a puzzle solving/exploration shooter
- Current incarnation of the game is open world, includes NPCs, and has you taking on quests
- Development is “very chaotic” and has gone through several “total revisions”
- Release won’t be until after 2013

Again, these are all rumors. No reason to believe it.
